| The
first Baha'i community in the Antelope Valley was organized
in 1958. Currently, there are three Baha'i communities in the
Antelope Valley: Palmdale, Lancaster, and Antelope JD(surrounding
areas). The responsibility for organizing the affairs of each
community rest with
a body known as the Spiritual Assembly. This body of nine people
is elected annually on April 21st.
Love,
Unity and Service
The
Purpose of a Baha'i community is to create an atmosphere of
true love and unity, in which, individuals and families can
grow spiritually and be of service to the community and all
mankind.

Children
It
is not only the duty of the parents but also of the community
to make sure that children receive education and develope
spiritually. The Enoch Olinga Baha'i School was created to assist
in the spiritual education of children and it is open to children
of all Faiths. The School operates three to four times each
month.
In
the Community
We
are an active advocate for spiritual solutions on issues such
as racial prejudice, gender equality, and religious intolerance.
We work toward a community in which all view themselves as a
member of the human family. A family that is loving and united,
where the barriers of racial, gender, and religious prejudices
are removed forever. To promote these ideals, we work with the
following organizations:
-
Antelope
Valley Human Relations Task Force
-
Antelope
Valley International Heritage Committee
-
Antelope
Valley Interfaith Council
